| Seeing as I've pretty much put spriting permanently on the backburner, I've decided to start uploading some of my non-sprite creations!
I took all of these pictures with my PS Vita, so the quality might not be too great. Most of these pictures are too big to fit in a scanner anyway, though.
Special thanks to Ezra for giving me the courage to do this.
White Cat in Abstract:
My first-ever charcoal work, created about three years ago. I didn't intend for it to end up as a cat, but about halfway through I saw the resemblance and decided to go for it.
Kitty Cat Caricature:
This was an art class assignment in college. We were given a pen and two minutes and had to see what we could come up with in that period of time. I ended up with this funny-looking feline.
Apple Core in Charcoal:
Another art assignment. We had to churn out a set number of drawings per week, and it got to the point where I was drawing pretty much anything I could find. This was one of the better ones.
Shadow Study in Pen:
This was never meant to be anything really amazing, but my instructor really, REALLY liked it for some reason.
Study of a Pear:
Flower Study in Pastel:
One of my first pastel works. I don't like working in color that much.
Another Flower Study:
Same flower, different colors.
The only thing harder than drawing faces is NOT drawing them. This was inspired by an image in one of the older Hawkman comics, where whether or not he actually was a ghost was deliberately kept ambiguous.
Unfinished Portrait: Ship's Officers
Yeah, the title says it all. I scrapped it because I wasn't happy with how it was turning out, but I didn't have the heart to throw it away. Maybe I'll get back to it one of these days.
Another unfinished portrait. I'm not sure why I stopped working on this one, though.

| So much better than my drawings. lol
Quite liked the apple core one though I found it to be a but thick, compared to how they are usually depicted. And the ghost is pretty cool but the right hand looks big compared to the arm.

| Wow really good.
To me it seems like your people are really good compared to the others.

|Quite amazing there, milady~|

It's funny you should say this for that portrait because it's actually one of my favorites out of what you posted I hope you finish/remake it eventually, but even unfinished it looks really good.
I also really like the Gentleman Ghost and the Pear, everything is really good in general but those are my top three.

|I'm surprised I didn't see any portraits of Reptor to be honest. I do like the final unfinished portrait, who is it? Random person or someone you know?|

| ^ I do have a Reptor portrait lying around somewhere. This isn't my entire portfolio, just what I was able to track down in five minutes. A lot of my older drawings are even better than the ones I've posted; I'm still transitioning from pencil to charcoal, though, so that's probably to be expected.
As for the gent in the unfinished portrait, I have no idea. I started - and stopped - working on it three years ago, and if I knew who he was then I definitely forgot in the interim.

| ^Thank you!
This is nothing too significant. I recently purchased a drawing tablet, and am currently attempting to accustom myself to the software. Until that time, however, don't expect anything TOO spectacular.
This is a REALLY rough sketch I whipped up in about thirty minutes. I'll probably go back and polish it once I've figured out how everything works.

|Woah! These look good!|

This was a fifteen-minute charcoal thing done mostly for practice. I basically put myself on a timer and drew the first thing that came into my head, which was apparently a lot of vases. The proportions probably aren't that great, but the goal was to see how much I could get done in fifteen minutes.

I am still proud that I was your first client ^-^

| Digital art!
This was a really quick (read: 5 minute) speed painting I did in Krita. Why it ended up being the little statue from Twilight Princess is beyond me.

| I hadn't planned on posting any more unfinished works/works in progress, but I was having too much fun with this one and felt compelled to share it.
Believe it or not, barring a really lousy sketch I did about five years ago, this is the first non-sprite Reptor fanart I've ever attempted. Obviously it isn't even close to being finished - the shading needs a lot of fine-tuning, for one thing - but I really like how it's turning out so far.

|Wow Duchess that looks superb! If that's the unfinished product I can't wait to see what the final version looks like|

| Thanks, Ezra!
I guess this is...sort-of finished. I'm still not 100% satisfied, but, then again, this wasn't supposed to be anything more than a practice sketch.
...That being said, I'm nevertheless pretty happy that it turned out this well. This might be the first time I've gone into fangirl mode over one of my own pictures. Heh.

| ^ Thanks!
Okay, I've FINALLY finished my first plush in 13 years! And it probably isn't what anyone would have expected.
It's the little statue from the Temple of Time in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. I fell in love with it the first time I saw it, and couldn't stop telling my brother how adorable it was (which annoyed him to no end, but that's neither here nor there). This isn't a perfect plush; it's uneven in a lot of places. But it's my first in over a decade, my first to use a real pattern instead of random scraps just sewn together, and it DOES look like the cute little statue, so I love it.

|You made a plush? Oh my gosh it looks awesome and adorable~!|
|Posted by: Duchess of Friege Apr 30 2018, 02:57 PM|
| ^ Thanks, Ezra! I've made another, smaller statue since this one. It also has issues, but proportionally it's much closer to the reference. I love them both, though, flaws and all!
So, I have something a little different to show this time. It's different, it's complicated, and it's in COLOR.
Arpeggio from Sly 2: Band of Thieves. Really, it's hard to feel the appropriate level of animosity towards a villain when they're that cute.
And yes, I actually attempted to replicate a page from Codex on the Flight of Birds. Words can't describe how intense and frustrating that was, but I'm thrilled with how it turned out.
