Ok, can you tell me what exactly has to be done for a map to be acceptable for it to be inserted into a hack?

I mean like what type of file, should there be a border between each space, ect.

Here's a great tutorial for map insertion by MarkyJoe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cKQtfAuzml8You basically use one program (Mappy) to design the map tile by tile (it isn't as hard as it sounds). Then you use another program (MAR Inserter) to insert the map into the game. Then you use Nightmare to make sure the game recognizes the tile set you used to make the map, so it appears right in the game. The tutorial explains all of it pretty well. I'd say it's much easier than spriting. |

I doubt you understand how easy it is to sprite a map...but I'll look at the tutorial...

If you want to make a more custom map...then it will take a long, long time. |
Most people who sprite maps already have a tile set...they just alter them if they feel like it. Its incredibly easy...

Not really...no more than that map editor. Plus, I use ONE program....
I have doubts that I will be able to download all those programs....
